MRC Human Nutrition Research (HNR) is a world-leader in the field of scientific research into relationships between nutrition and health. An exciting opportunity is available for up to 2 Phlebotomist/Research Assistants to join our paediatric survey team for Diet and Nutrition Survey of Infants and Young Children (DNSIYC). The successful candidate(s) will work on the mobile research facility, which will travel extensively in the UK, delivering clinical, anthropometric and body composition measurement services for the survey.

The post holder(s) will be expected to work directly with the public, and other members of the team to gather measurements and blood samples for the DNSIYC survey. They will also be seen to explain protocols, ethical procedures, and reporting data measured in the form of accurate reports/files and through liaising with the wider study team.

Applicants for this post will be qualified as a phlebotomist/nurse and be trained in paediatric phlebotomy. Further training specific to the study will be provided at our offices in Cambridge. Business expenses during training and on an ongoing basis will be paid in full. Post holders will be required to have full enhanced CRB checks at offer stage.

Shortlisting will take place every week up to a month until we have identified and secured the best employee for the vacancy.

This is a full time role based on a fixed term contract position ending 31 August 2011 with salary dependant on qualifications and experience.
