                                                                  Create Your Childrens Nurse CV

Everyone knows that when it comes to applying for a new job, your CV must be the best it can possibly be. Your CV is the first opportunity you get to show how good you are, and most importantly help to show why you are better than any other applicant for the job.

So, what should a CV be in a nutshell? Your CV should summarise your main positions, qualifications and skills in as clear and concise a format as possible. You must include specifics, such as your job title and precise dates of employment, whilst also remembering that the hiring manager wants to make the quickest decision they possibly can due to the countless number of applications they receive. Make sure that the most critical aspects and achievements from your education/ employment are included.

Importantly, you should tailor your CV to each and every job application that you make. If you do make more than one application, take a few moments to read through the job description picking out each element and ensuring that your CV answers as many of these 'questions' as possible. Using just one CV is too general to show you as perfect for every job - you are unique, make sure your CV reflects that.

Continue reading for detailed information about creating your CV, along with a downloadable CV template at the bottom of this page.
                                                                  What your CV should include...

                                                                  1. Personal Profile

It is often advantageous to include a personal statement from you outlining what motivates you, your experience, where you wish to take your career and maybe a little about the kind of person you are.  These all help an employer to get an idea of the real you and what you have to offer.

A well written profile can make a considerable impression in the selection process and give you a competitive edge, so spend time making yours as clear and concise as possible.

                                                                                          (Length - Maximum 150 words)

                                                                      *    Tip #1 - Your profile MUST be changed for every application you make. It will be difficult to convince an Employer A you are perfect for Job A if your details are tailored to Job B at Employer B.

                                                                  2. Personal Details

This section is needed simply for the employer to know how to contact you with regards to your application, interviews, new opportunities etc.

You should include your postal address, 1 or 2 telephone numbers and your email address.

                                                                      * Tip #1 - Email addresses are often a giveaway or do not show you in the best light possible. Your email address should be a combination of your first name and surname only, such as sam.smith@hotmail.co.uk. It is surprising how many applicants still use intimate or overly personal information as email addresses - if you are bunny.boiler1987@fatalattraction.com or x_mr.unreliable_x@partyanimal.com you should think about changing your address ASAP!
                                                                      * Tip #2 - Always, always, always ensure there are no mistakes with the telephone number you provide on your CV. Make sure you check it before sending your CV anywhere, if an employer can't contact you they can't offer you a job!

                                                                  3. Employment History
